Wow… not sure about you but you’ve heard the saying “time flies when you having fun”. 6 months into 2022 and no surprise for us to confirm and say God is good!!! We are constantly aware of the leading of the Holy Spirit and to see how His work unfolds around us is such a privilege. We love what we do and are learning all the time. Food Parcels

In the last 3 months we have been able to give out 326 parcels within the Edenvale, Boksburg, Kempton areas as well as 51 parcels to families in Tembisa. We are thankful for donations of chicken that enabled us to included hearty homemade soup in our parcels as well as nice fresh produce. Additional food hampers were also handed out to Edenvale child welfare, Hospice, Harvest ministries towards their winter bible school programme. What a privilege it was to be able to take a very large hamper through to Hillbrow to a lady who cooks and feeds street people as well as taken in 6 orphans t o her home, we are planning to support this cause on a regular basis.

Great quality second hand clothing which has been sorted and distributed to many elderly folk, Love in action NGO in Kempton park, LRC church for their outreach into Alexandra township.

The baby clothes and blankets were donated to the Ruth pregnancy crisis centre.

Vegetable Gardens

We were so excited to harvest our first crops from the garden at newDAY church and even use it in our chicken soup!! We have planted new seeds and wait in anticipation to see growth.

Winter Beanie & Blanket Drive

We have been overwhelmed by the response and support of this project and thank all who knitted beautiful blankets, scarves and beanies WELL DONE !! your hard work was so worth it. To those who bought items we sincerely appreciate you. To date we have handed out 219 beanies, including 115 in Hillbrow by the team from Newday church who minister on the streets.

Creating Awareness

In May, we spent the morning with our senior saints of Newday church and presented a video of our journey and chatted about the different projects we are involved in. In June, we published an article in our local news paper, to share the journey from modest beginnings to who and where we are today. – Hillbrow, we support the ministry team from Newday church with 100 sandwiches per month

Farewell

Ending on a somber note, our very dearest friend Lynda has moved to the Lowveld, we miss you very much. We are so grateful for all the fun, laughter, wisdom and care you brought to our lives. Lynda is getting married on 16 July and we wish her the very best of everything God has for her.
