Beautiful SPRING is in the air, although it feels like mid-summer some days.
Isaiah 60:1-3
and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
For behold, darkness shall cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
but the Lord will arise upon you,
and his glory will be seen upon you.
And nations shall come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your rising.
Be living… not existing
Thank you!
Those words cannot capture how we feel about the kindness and generosity we have received. Thank you for believing in us. Without you this would not be possible.
From bread, cakes, perishable and non perishable food, toiletries, eft deposits, clothing… you name it. We have been overwhelmed!
Food Parcels
A total of 280 food parcels were distributed between July and September to families and individuals under our care.
We were able to assist other organizations with some food for their parcels with our excess, it is such a blessing to be able to do this.
Mandela Day 18 July
Nothing like a hot bowl of jungle oats on a cold morning.
We headed to Boksburg and joined forces with a church, cooking and serving from their premises. 150 portions were made. What amazing people we encountered, all trying to live the best they can in their situations.
Women’s Day 9 August
This was our first opportunity to reach out and bless ladies.
Dignity, the state of being worthy, honored and respected, is the key to all we do.
Thanks to various sponsors we were able to put together 60 toiletry bags. Bibles were donated so each lady got a bag and a bible.
We need your HELP – Men’s Toiletry Packs
We cannot forget the men so are currently collecting men’s toiletries for one of the shelters. We are needing 155 packs. Should you feel to help in this regard you can drop products in theGod’s pantry box in the foyer of Newday church OR…
Hillbrow
We continue to supply 100 sandwiches for the team who go onto the streets to love on the homeless. It’s an incredibly hard life and most have little to no hope. We have a monthly sponser that enables us to by fruit to go with the sandwiches. The fruit is the highlight, something we take for granted.
Over the last while we have collected, washed and ironed 82 pre owned good quality T-shirts. These were handed out in September. It really is these little gestures that bring hope and give dignity.
Community Hours
It is always so refreshing to have “young blood” among us. The schools require the learners to give a certain amount of hours to charity work, our latest was Matthew. He really is such a joy and has his own unique way of packing parcels and got down to making loads of sandwiches. Thanks Matt
